2017 Petit Verdot

Fruit from Faber Vineyard.  Very simple winemaking lets the fruit “speak for itself”. The wine has a lifted perfume of violets, berries and spice. It is elegant and medium bodied with a burst of dark fruits on the palate, followed by mouth coating powdery tannins through the finish.

2017 was a fantastic year for our vineyards Petit Verdot, with a bumper crop of extremely high quality.  We have had a golden run of PV vintages over the last 5 or so years with the 2017 being one of the stand outs.

“Inviting.  Such a late ripener poses all sorts of benefits to very warm regions.”

“A generosity of fruit without slipping into jam; vibrant aromatics that are not desiccated; and, as is the varieties wont, galvanising tannins that curtail the surge of blueberry, cherry and violet, while imparting a balancing bulwark of freshness.  This is delicious, with the creamy oak a salubrious plus”
