The fruit for this wine comes from our neighbour’s vineyard in Haddrill Road, Baskerville, planted 70 years ago. The original vines, ploughed, never irrigated, and pruned back hard every year, are now gnarly old veterans eking out a small crop of the most intensely flavoured grapes. The red grapes – predominantly Grenache with a small portion of Shiraz and Mataro – from these original vines were used to make this wonderfully expressive and distinct wine.
