Fruit hand-picked from Millard Vineyard – 750m from our own. After the wine is finished fermenting the pressings (the most concentrated/flavourful wine) are separated and spend 20 months in new French oak and another 8-16 months in bottle before release – a powerful wine and one built to last. Only 2 or 3 barrels are made each year.
Deep ruby colour with a medium purple core. A lovely bouquet of cedarwood, potpourri, cinnamon and black olive.
Rich powerful palate, this is certainly a fuller-bodied wine. Flush with stewed dark fruits, chocolate and blackstrap liquorice flavours. Firm tannins with a prominent earthiness throughout the long finish.
