Hello and welcome to Faber Vineyard.

Faber Vineyard is our family vineyard and winery in Western Australia’s Swan Valley.  Faber was established by John Griffiths & Jane Micallef in 1997 to grow regionally distinctive grapes and craft wines that are rich and flavoursome.  Faber is Latin for a smith, a craftsman, an artisan; skilled, ingenious.

We believe wine should be inspired – crafted with a sense of creating something distinctive and characterful.  Winemaking is a simple craft – let the fruit dictate the style of the wine, not the winemaker.  True winemaking is not an act of manipulation but of allowing the conversion of grapes to wine in such a way as to express the flavours and nature of those grapes.  It’s about wines that sing of their origins – variety, soil, climate.  Wine is a natural product, wrought by craftsmen.  It’s an old time thing.  Maybe it should just come in amphorae or goat skins!  Wine is traditional, it’s a delicious beverage that so delighted the ancients they considered it a gift from the gods.  Wine is still a gift from the gods.  Wine is real.  We want wine lovers to enjoy wine for wine’s sake. Because it tastes good.

Faber is real – heartfelt, authentic, pure, solid.  We are determined to make and offer authentic wines.  We want to create a rainbow of flavours to tickle your palate.  Faber is not an “experience” - it’s life.  We welcome you to explore and enjoy Faber Vineyard!

BEST SMALL WINERY IN WA!

Ray Jordan in his 2013 West Australian Wine Guide has declared Faber as the "Best Small Producer in Western Australia". Pretty good when we have several hundred small wineries in WA! And Ray has rated our 2012 Swan Verdelho and 2010 Reserve Shiraz (release April 2013) as among the best of their respective varieites in WA. The 2010 Reserve Shiraz will be released in the last week of April 2013 with our Reserve Release Dinner to be held Saturday evening 4th May in our Cellar Door Studio.
